About Us

The Sanaa Africa Festival is a celebration, recognition and elevation of Africa. Its creativity, opportunity, nurturing and ability to be harshly real while celebrating its unique beauty. The Festival is an annual event held in Johannesburg. Starting on Africa Day, the three day experience celebrates the threads that bind us as Africans from all the countries of our beloved continent.

It is positioned as a platform from which all cultures that have contributed to the formation of modern day Africa are celebrated and shared. As such, artists, creators, performers and communities are given a platform to showcase their creative talent. In doing so, the festival raises awareness of South Africa and Africa’s cultural heritage. It additionally provides participants with a marketing and sales platform that they can then use to ensure greater profitability and sustainability..

The festival’s three day programme incorporates genres such as fine arts, poetry, theatre, dance, film and music.

This year the festival will take place at St Stithians Girls’ College from 26 to 28 May 2016. Please join us as we pay tribute to our continents' creative talent and feast your eyes, ears and soul at the Sanaa Africa Festival 2016.
